The Nose Know's.

Last week we were doing our Stem challenge was doing The Nose know's with Mrs Parsons ( AKA our teacher. ) Mrs Parsons gave us a sheet with instructions on what to do. All the bottles were labelled in letters. We had to grab one of the tiny bottles and smell them and try find the matching scent to it and we had found the two that match we would look at the letters and write them down side by side and write what the scent was. After that Mrs Parsons gave us the slide we had to do and post it on our blog.

I really thought doing it was a fun experiment and if I could, I would love to do it again.

Making sherbert.

Last week with one of our teachers, Matua Axel, for our Stem challenge we were making sherbert here in New Zealand, Sherbert isn't ice cream, it's something completely different.

I enjoyed making it the most because it involved a lot of experimental science, our teachers said to complete it we needed to think like scientists so we had to use some of our senses, Taste, smell and sight I think, and I thought it was fun.

I found hard doing the measurements because I'm not a maths lover and neither am I good at it, but I think I added more citric acid then the rest of the ingredients because I felt a sting at the back of my throat when I tasted it.

River and Atawai, Sugar crystals.

Today I was learning how to make Sugar crystals with my friend, Atawai.
I enjoyed seeing the what my Sugar crystal looked like everyday when I came to school, except for Monday. I loved fact on how the '' Supersaturated solution '' make it form into a Sugar crystal it's just so fascinating.
I found it challenging to put my sugar crystal in with the cup because the peg could just fit on the cup and I got a bit worried the crystal would shatter.
My digital learning object shows I can replace images, use the camera app, change text and backgrounds and embed my DLO in my blog.
Next time I would change the type of pegs we used so we I would be less worried if it was going to fall or not.

Alex, Paige, Nelson, and River's Solar Oven.

Today I was learning how to make a Solar oven with only 10 pieces of equipment!!
I enjoyed mostly making the Solar oven because I think I tried something new, it was really fun to make and if our oven ever doesn't work we have this and the sun to make our food.
I found it challenging to was on the part where you put the glad wrap on and tape it down is where me and my sister got a bit stuck because we weren't very gentle with the glad wrap and it kept of tearing and so we had to re start a few times on that part.
My digital learning object shows I can replace images, use the camera app, change text and backgrounds and embed my DLO in my blog.
Next time I would change the box a bit and paint it white maybe and make it look like an actual stove.

My S.T.E.M challenge.

This was really fun but extremely tiring. This in total took around 5 hours or more to draw and that's because I every detail takes a lot of work to do when coming to drawing, and I had to take breaks because I wanted and my mum said to take him out for a play and stuff. And also I didn't finish my daily challenge or art challenge because this one took way to long and I was getting really tired, and I didn't want to stuff up the rest of my work.
Today I was learning how to make a Tessalation using colored pencils or felts, a pencil, an black sharpie or felt or even an ink pen, paper and tape.
I enjoyed the coloring the most because I could play around with them and it's the funnest part when coming to a rainbow drawing.
I found it challenging to perverse and keep going because on how tired I was and how my hands were starting to hurt.
My digital learning object shows my artwork and about what happened and how I felt doing it.
Next time I would change it by putting the colors in a different order and maybe make a different shape.
