My Speech

My Speech.

On Thursday or Wednesday we had Speeches and I was super worried that we weren't allowed our Speech cards because I hadn't learnt it of by heart at the time. Gladly we were allowed them just in case we got stuck.

It was fun because I was glad I got it over and done with because I'm not used to speaking in big crowds but I was ok because it was only my class, The Principle, Mrs Mc Kibben ( AKA the judges ), and the parents listening.

I'm pretty proud of myself because I tried my best and I didn't cry and I knew I did it anyways. Over all it was fun saying it and fun listening to the other students speeches.

The Nose Know's.

Last week we were doing our Stem challenge was doing The Nose know's with Mrs Parsons ( AKA our teacher. ) Mrs Parsons gave us a sheet with instructions on what to do. All the bottles were labelled in letters. We had to grab one of the tiny bottles and smell them and try find the matching scent to it and we had found the two that match we would look at the letters and write them down side by side and write what the scent was. After that Mrs Parsons gave us the slide we had to do and post it on our blog.

I really thought doing it was a fun experiment and if I could, I would love to do it again.

My paper rocket.

Today I was learning how to make a paper rocket out of 1 sheet of paper, tape, scissors, glue, and black and white felt tips.
I enjoyed drawing the rocket because drawing it is my favorite thing to do out of this whole entire thing as you can tell by looking at my blog I do a lot of drawing and that's because I want to be and artist when I grow up.
I found it challenging to make the straw because we don't have any straws through out our house so I made the straw out of tape and paper. The hardest part about was forming it into a circle because the paper kept on folding instead of doing what I wanted it to do.
My digital learning object shows I can replace images, use the camera app, change text and backgrounds and embed my DLO in my blog.
Next time I would change the colors and shape of my rocket and maybe by some straws to make it easier.

My distance learning reflections.

This term my teachers have given me a slide about my distance learning from at home or school and they put 5 questions for us to answer.
I enjoyed answering the questions because it makes me think back on my learning and what I did.
My digital learning object shows my reflections on what I liked about distance learning and other stuff.
Next time I might change the fonts and the color of the bubbles to give it a bit more color.

My Quick write about the famous land marks.

This Week, everyday I was writing about famous landmarks. The one I liked best was the Statue of Liberty because it was super interesting to me how the 25 windows in the crown represent gemstones.
Today I was learning about 5 famous landmarks which are the Statue of Liberty, The great wall of china, Taj Mahal, Pyramid of giza and Machu Picchu.
I enjoyed finding out different facts about each different land mark and I thought it was super cool.
I found it challenging to find heaps of differnt facts for Taj Mahal and Machu picchu because there wasn't much facts that was for kids that I could understand.
My digital learning object shows different famous landmarks with facts about them.

10 really cool facts you might want to know.

This week was interesting but fun. The part I liked the most was learning and writing all the facts because they were just really interesting and I learnt more, but I only wanted to put a certain amount of facts so I could fit 3 pictures on the side.
Today I was learning different and really cool facts that were mind blowing, interesting and some were a bit weird but cool to know at the same time.
I enjoyed everything it was super fun and I was learning too, but at home and it's online learning.
I found it challenging to put it in my own words because I just felt like copying but I know that's wrong to do.
My digital learning object shows 10 different facts and what I have been learning at home.

My mothers day Rose.

This week is going really well because it's so close to mothers day, I love mothers day because it makes my mum really happy. Today my art challenge was to make a origami rose, it was super fun and it's for mothers day.
Today I was learning how to make a origami rose out of paper, scissors and color pencils for my mum.
I enjoyed coloring the rainbow boarder and making it because it was super easy because because there was only 4 steps, and I had the equipment to make it.
It wasn't really that challenging but doing the cursive letters was a bit hard.
My digital learning object shows how my learning went through out making it and how I made it.
Next time I would add a black background after the rainbow boarder just to make it stand out a bit more.

This term / This week we made home made vanilla ice cream using a video the teachers gave us and the cool thing is we only needed 3 things, you will find out what they are when you read the slide.
Today I was learning how to make Vanilla ice cream using 3 ingredients and an electric mixer.
I enjoyed having fun and making it with my little sister Paige because it's an no device activity.
I found it challenging to find the ingredients because people are going crazy over them in the shops.
My digital learning object shows how to make Vanilla ice cream and what to use to make an delicious and yummy ice cream made at home.
Next time I would change the amount of condensed milk I put in and use a measuring cup.

River's Poppies.

This week during quarantine we had an Anzac contract with all this kind of work to do and I had to post on my blog and so I drew Poppies using a video of Art Hub for kids and it was really fun to do and it helps you practice with drawing if you are not that good at it.
The thing I liked about it was that it was fun and it was really cool to see at the end what it looked like.
The most interesting part was how poppies can be drawn in different ways and different styles.
The easy part was coloring because it's easy and fun at the same time.
The hard part was forming the petals because of how petals are different in their own way so I had to make them unique.

Titanic.

This Term, We were reading about the Titanic and it has one of the most interesting things like having a whole entire room to yourself and having a luxury with 2 staircases and a little balcony inside to look over and watch people dance. The most interesting thing is that it has the length of 3 Football fields! Overall I liked it because it had interesting facts that will blow your mind!

Vikings.

This Week, We were choosing our own civilization and I did Vikings because I wanted to find out where they lived and how they lived. I just found out that they lived in Scandinavia, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
The thing I found hard was finding the best picture because all of them were scary so I decided to get one that looks like a viking but it's cartoon.
The thing I found easy was knowing what to do because I followed the Success Criteria and it helped me to know what to do.
The thing I found interesting was what they used for their houses because we don't use what Vikings use for their houses now.

Thylacine.

This Term we were learning about our own extinct animal. This Term I was doing a Thylacine best known as a Tasmanian Tiger. Did you know a Thylacine competed against Dingo's for food?
What I found hard was getting a lot of information because I had to put that information into a Kahoot and had to do 10 questions about it.
What I found easy was describing what a Thylacine could do to a Hyena with it's teeth because I saw a video at home.
The part I found interesting is that the Greek meaning for Thylacinus Cynocephalus is
 "Dog Headed Pouched One".

This Term, We were learning about Haast's Eagles. We had to include punctuation, a one coloured background and we had to put our facts about the Haast's Eagle into a story, and we had to have 5 - 10 facts about the Haast's Eagle.
The thing I found easy was getting facts about the Haast's Eagle because I knew what facts to put into my slide about the Haast's Eagle.
The thing I found hard was my punctuation because I didn't know where to put my exclamation marks.
The thing I liked was the part where Haast's Eagles can take down a 200kg Moa.
The thing I found interesting was that a Haast's Eagles wings are 3 times the size of my arms!

Powerful Learner.

This is my Powerful Learner slide.
The hardest part was getting the pentagons into a circle and keeping in time with everyone.
The easiest part was doing my name and my background.
The part I liked was how we got to put our pentagons into a circle even though it was hard but overall it was fun because I got to learn something new.
